The Information Security Analyst II is responsible for safeguarding the company against intrusions, malware, threat actors, and assorted cyber threats. The role will be responsible for conducting investigations and analysis in support of cyber incidents reported from our Level 1 teams. In addition, this role requires the ability to determine containment and/or remediation activities that may be required and ensuring those activities are conducted in a timely manner.

What You’ll Do - Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Information Security Team providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 support.
  • Actively monitor and investigate security alerts to detect malicious activities
  • Performs threat hunting and continuous monitoring activities to identify potential security risks.
  • Correlates activity across assets and environments to detect patterns of anomalous behavior.
  • Actively participates in incident response, providing expertise in containment, eradication, and recovery efforts.
  • Prepare briefings and reports of analysis methodology and results.
  • Conducts ongoing research into emerging threats and vulnerabilities to enhance incident identification capabilities.
  • Conducts research and evaluates intelligence data, with specific emphasis on tactics, techniques, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the security operations team to improve incident detection and response capabilities.
  • Stay up to date on the latest vulnerabilities, threats, and attacks; research and recommend new security solutions.

What We’re Looking For – Qualifications and Skills

  • 2 – 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and work experience: undergraduate degree and 1-2 years of relevant experience.
  • 2 – 3 years of Information Technology experience with network technologies, specifically TCP/IP, and related network tools.
  • Experience assisting the development and maintenance of tools, procedures, and documentation.
  • Strong deductive reasoning, critical thinking, problem solving, and prioritization skills.
  • Experience with reviewing raw log files, data correlation, and analysis (i.e. firewall, network flow, IDS, system logs).
  • Experience using SIEM tools, ticketing systems, and performing cyber threat analysis.
  • Experience with Microsoft security tools.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, demanding, and challenging business environment.
