The Senior Credit Risk Analyst is responsible for identifying business challenges and opportunities for improvement as well as utilize analysis based on mining available consumer, collateral, and transaction information and data to provide strategic and tactical recommendations. What You’ll Do - Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop credit strategies to improve the credit performance by using data, machine learning models and advanced analytics tools to optimize risk decisions.
  • Continue to innovate by testing new data, analytics approaches and models.
  • Analyze portfolio performance at a granular segment level on an ongoing basis. Identify trends and conduct root-cause analysis to isolate key performance driver.
  • Measure how change to origination credit policy and lending environment can impact loan volume as well as overall credit performance.
  • Proactively monitor and report relevant changes in origination trends and portfolio performance to management.
  • Bring innovative/out of the box thinking to make recommendations and to approaching/solving problems.
  • Partner with Product, Marketing, Collections, Remarketing, and Information Technology teams to implement strategies and monitor the strategy performance.
  • Summarize analysis and communicate information to various levels of management.
  • Translate and communicate data analysis into results and develop implementation tactics. Provides consulting support to business areas around credit performance.
  • Produce analysis, tracking reports and dashboards related to loan origination, performance, and forecasting, to include manipulating and interpreting data, analyzing/identifying trends, and reports findings.
  • Perform product or other segment level analytics to analyze performance of existing products and assist with roll-out of new product policy and pricing strategies for various product offerings.
  • Champion change improvements in credit performance by connecting drivers of future consumer credit trends to historical behavior and testing hypotheses using rigorous monitoring and analysis before recommending ways to improve outcomes.
  • Conduct thorough portfolio reviews, monitor credit risk exposure, and provide recommendations for risk mitigation strategies and process improvements.

What We’re Looking For – Qualifications and Skills

  • Master’s degree in applied statistics, mathematics, management science, economics or equivalent
  • At least 2 years’ experience in predictive modeling, decision analytics, data science, or related work; 3 years’ experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in data analysis, preferably in the financial services industry, with a focus on credit risk analysis
  • Hands on experience building predictive models and solutions using SQL, R, or Python, and implementing them into a production environment. Experience in using Data Intelligence platforms such as DataBricks.
  • Proficient in handling Large Datasets, working with Data Processing Frameworks, and building reliable Data Pipelines. Familiarity with cloud-based data warehousing platforms such as Azure (ADW). Expertise in creating credit analysis reports by extracting and combining relevant customer and credit data from a variety of data sources.
  • Experience in creating reports and dashboards using data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
  • Extensive experience building advanced analytical solutions using best-in-class Machine Learning and Statistical Modeling techniques
  • Familiar with data from various bureaus and third-party data providers. Processed very large datasets and comfortable with structured, semi-structured and unstructured data
  • Strong communication skills and motivated to deliver innovative/effective solutions to address business problems
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think analytically and critically
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and reporting
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
