The Financial Analyst is responsible for working with ambiguous and incomplete information to develop financial reporting and analyses used to support the strategy of the business.

What You’ll Do - Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Managing/creation of databases of product and financial related data.
  • Work with business leaders to build and analyze budgets and forecasts.
  • Provide direct support for several key business units. The position includes budgeting, assisting with the monthly close, forecasting, revenue reporting, risk assessment, and other Ad-hoc duties relating to these publications.
  • Work closely with operations to develop tools and analyses to increase the productivity/profitability of business units.
  • Create financial presentations for quarterly board meetings and yearly budget meetings.
  • Assist business units with analysis of new initiatives and other business development opportunities.
  • Report on financial results and key metrics against appropriate base comparisons (prior year, budget, reforecast); perform in-depth analyses to prepare and present business projections & deviations from plan.
  • Develop ad-hoc reports using Excel and other financial systems.

What We’re Looking For – Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in any quantitative field (Finance, Actuarial Science, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or Physics)
  • 1-3 years of analytical experience in data mining, modeling, and analysis; relevant experience in the financial services industry is preferred, but not required
  • Hands-on experience in data manipulation, statistics, web analytics, and descriptive analytics
  • Strong financial, strategic, analytical, and project management skills
  • Ability to translate business concepts across multiple levels of the organization
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Microsoft Office), databases and coding (SQL, Alteryx), and Power BI
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings in a meaningful way
  • Hyperion/Essbase experience strongly preferred, but not required
  • Financial services and/or multi-unit retail experience
