Accounts Payable Manager

Carrollton, TX (on-site)

 

As an Accounts Payable Manager, you will have a strong aptitude in driving the Accounts Payable process with technology and automation.  The successful candidate will be responsible for oversight of the Accounts Payable Department and execution of high-volume Accounts Payable for over 1,700 locations.  This will include driving and improving Accounts Payable processes.  

Responsibilities

  • Manages Accounts Payable staff of 5-8 along with the full-cycle Accounts Payable process.
  • Train and develop accounts payable staff, including setting performance goals and conducting performance evaluations
  • Oversee check request process by ensuring that request adheres to company policy.
  • Oversee the processing of annual 1099s to independent contractors and report to IRS and monthly review.
  • Responsible for reviewing and reconciling AP batches and ensuring accurate posting to the general ledger.
  • Utilize Oracle Cloud software along with Doc-link for processing of all AP related transactions and reporting.
  • Ensure proper procedures and processes are in place for maintaining and updating vendor profiles in Oracle.
  • Manage vendor relationships and resolve any issues or disputes related to payments or invoices
  • Manage special projects as necessary including effectively communicating with senior management
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and finance, to ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices
  • Monitor and analyze accounts payable processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Develop and maintain accounts payable policies and procedures
  • Prepare monthly and year-end accounts payable closings, running required reports, reconcile accounts payable to the general ledger, conduct detail analysis of accounts payable aging and days payable outstanding.
  • Ensure that all controls are being applied accordingly.
  • Ad hoc projects, requests, reports as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university
  • 5+ years of managing high-volume full-cycle accounts payable experience; with prior supervisory/management experience and demonstrated leadership skills
  • 1099 Preparation and Filing experience required
  • Must have strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills. Process Improvement skills is a plus.
  • Must be a flexible thinker and comfortable with change; ability to help elevate AP to the next level and enhance integrations within the department
  • Excellent technical, written, and verbal communication skills; demonstrated strong leadership skills
  • Understanding of Accounting Principles and impact to Financial Statements is a plus
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Must be able to work extended hours, particularly during the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end processes
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Oracle and ERP Integrations are a plus. 
  • Physical demands for this position frequently include: the ability to remain in a stationary position, move about freely inside and occasionally outside of the office, and the operation of mechanical controls, such as a keyboard.
  • Knowledge of sales and use tax regulations and compliance requirements
  • Professional certification such as Certified Accounts Payable Associate (CAPA) or Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) is a plus
